The Bike Memory Project is a collaborative archive of bikes drawn from memory. This page says what personal data the site, its drawing tool and its notes form handle, why, and what you can ask us to do.

Who is responsible

The Bike Memory Project is run by its author, who decides how the data described here is used. For anything on this page, write to bikes@maosolano.com.

When you visit the site

  • The public site has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics, and it does not set cookies. Its fonts are served from the site itself.
  • Our hosting provider, Vercel Inc., processes technical data such as your IP address, browser and the pages you request, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
  • Search runs in your browser. The drawing tool runs in your browser too: what you draw is not sent anywhere unless you choose to submit it (see “Drawing your own bike” below) — a download stays on your device.
  • The logo can react when you shake your device. On some phones your browser asks permission to read its motion sensors; that reading stays on your device.
  • A small internal area, used only by the team and invited reviewers, sets one session cookie that is strictly necessary to keep them signed in.

The drawings

The drawings on the wall were made by people who were asked to draw a bicycle from memory. Some carry handwritten names or signatures.

If you drew one and want it removed, or want your name or signature taken off it, write to bikes@maosolano.com with the bike number. We will act on it as soon as we can, and reply within 30 days.

Drawing your own bike

The drawing tool on /draw asks a few questions once you’re done drawing: your name and a note, your place, age range, and whether you ride a bike (all optional). None of it leaves your device until you press Enter.

Two separate boxes, both needed before anything is sent: one to show your drawing at all, and a second, optional one to show your name and place next to it — leave it unchecked to appear anonymous. Nothing is published straight away: a curator looks at every drawing first, the same way the rest of the archive is reviewed.

If we don't publish your drawing, we delete it and everything you entered — we don't keep declined drawings around. If we do, your drawing and the fields you agreed to show behave exactly like the rest of the archive: see “The drawings” above for how to ask for it to be removed.

Notes about a bike

Each bike page can link to a form, hosted on Google Forms, where you can tell us what you know about that bike. It asks for the bike number, how you relate to the bike, your note and, optionally, the approximate year and place it was drawn, how you want to be credited, your name and your email. Google records when you submit it.

  • What we use it for: to read your note, decide whether to publish it next to the bike and, if you leave your email, to ask you about it.
  • What is published: only a note you agreed to publish and, if you chose to be credited, your name and the place. Your email is never published.
  • Why we may do this: your consent, which you give by answering Yes to the consent question in the form. You can withdraw it at any time; that does not affect what was done before you did.
  • Please don't put personal data about other people in your note (full names, phone numbers, addresses). We may edit a note or leave it out if it does.
  • The form is for people 16 or older.

Who else receives your data

Notes-form responses are stored in Google Forms and Google Sheets, under the author's Google account (Google LLC). A drawing you submit on /draw, and what you entered with it, is stored on Vercel's file storage (Vercel Blob), part of the same hosting as the rest of the site, Vercel Inc. Both may process data in the United States or other countries, under the safeguards their terms provide. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

  • A published note stays for as long as the site shows that bike, unless you ask us to remove it.
  • Responses we don't publish, and the emails in them, are deleted after 12 months.
  • If you withdraw your consent, we delete your response and take your note off the site.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or withdraw your consent, by writing to bikes@maosolano.com. We reply within 30 days. If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the data protection authority of the country where you live.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so here and update the date at the top.

The Bike Memory Project es un archivo colaborativo de bicis dibujadas de memoria. Esta página explica qué datos personales tratan el sitio, su herramienta de dibujo y su formulario de notas, para qué, y qué puedes pedirnos.

Quién es responsable

Cuando visitas el sitio

  • El sitio público no tiene cuentas, publicidad ni analítica, y no instala cookies. Sus tipografías se sirven desde el propio sitio.
  • Nuestro proveedor de alojamiento, Vercel Inc., trata datos técnicos como tu dirección IP, tu navegador y las páginas que pides, para entregar el sitio y mantenerlo seguro.
  • La búsqueda funciona en tu navegador. La herramienta de dibujo también: lo que dibujas no se envía a ningún lado salvo que elijas enviarlo (ver «Dibuja tu propia bici» más abajo) — la descarga se queda en tu dispositivo.
  • El logotipo puede reaccionar cuando agitas tu dispositivo. En algunos móviles tu navegador pide permiso para leer sus sensores de movimiento; esa lectura se queda en tu dispositivo.
  • Un área interna, que solo usan el equipo y revisores invitados, instala una cookie de sesión estrictamente necesaria para mantenerlos identificados.

Los dibujos

Los dibujos del muro los hicieron personas a las que se pidió dibujar una bicicleta de memoria. Algunos llevan nombres o firmas escritos a mano.

Si dibujaste uno y quieres que se retire, o quieres que quitemos tu nombre o tu firma, escribe a bikes@maosolano.com con el número de la bici. Lo atenderemos lo antes posible y responderemos en un plazo de 30 días.

Dibuja tu propia bici

La herramienta de /draw hace unas preguntas antes y después de dibujar: fecha y lugar aproximados, tu rango de edad, si usas bicicleta y qué tan segura te sentiste (todo opcional), y después tu nombre y una nota (también opcionales). Nada sale de tu dispositivo hasta que pulsas Enviar.

Dos casillas separadas, ambas necesarias antes de enviar algo: una para mostrar tu dibujo, y una segunda, opcional, para mostrar también tu nombre y lugar; sin marcarla, apareces anónimo. Nada se publica de inmediato: un curador revisa cada dibujo primero, igual que el resto del archivo.

Si no publicamos tu dibujo, lo borramos junto con todo lo que escribiste — no guardamos los dibujos rechazados. Si lo publicamos, tu dibujo y los campos que aceptaste mostrar se tratan igual que el resto del archivo: revisa «Los dibujos» arriba para pedir que se retire.

Notas sobre una bici

Cada página de bici puede enlazar a un formulario, alojado en Google Forms, donde puedes contarnos lo que sabes de esa bici. Pide el número de la bici, tu relación con ella, tu nota y, de forma opcional, el año y el lugar aproximados en que se dibujó, cómo quieres que te acreditemos, tu nombre y tu correo. Google registra cuándo lo envías.

  • Para qué lo usamos: para leer tu nota, decidir si la publicamos junto a la bici y, si dejas tu correo, para preguntarte por ella.
  • Qué se publica: solo una nota que aceptaste publicar y, si elegiste que te acreditemos, tu nombre y el lugar. Tu correo nunca se publica.
  • Por qué podemos hacerlo: tu consentimiento, que das al responder «Sí» a la pregunta de consentimiento del formulario. Puedes retirarlo en cualquier momento; eso no afecta a lo hecho antes.
  • Por favor, no pongas en tu nota datos personales de otras personas (nombres completos, teléfonos, direcciones). Podemos editar una nota o dejarla fuera si los contiene.
  • El formulario es para personas de 16 años o más.

Quién más recibe tus datos

Las respuestas del formulario de notas se guardan en Google Forms y Google Sheets, en la cuenta de Google del autor (Google LLC). Un dibujo que envías en /draw, y lo que escribiste con él, se guarda en el almacenamiento de archivos de Vercel (Vercel Blob), parte del mismo alojamiento que el resto del sitio, Vercel Inc. Ambos pueden tratar datos en Estados Unidos u otros países, con las garantías que prevén sus condiciones. No vendemos tus datos ni los usamos para publicidad.

Cuánto tiempo los guardamos

  • Una nota publicada se queda mientras el sitio muestre esa bici, salvo que pidas retirarla.
  • Las respuestas que no publicamos, y los correos que contienen, se borran a los 12 meses.
  • Si retiras tu consentimiento, borramos tu respuesta y quitamos tu nota del sitio.

Tus derechos

Puedes pedirnos una copia de tus datos, que los corrijamos o borremos, que limitemos su uso o te opongas a él, o retirar tu consentimiento, escribiendo a bikes@maosolano.com. Respondemos en un plazo de 30 días. Si crees que hemos tratado mal tus datos, puedes reclamar ante la autoridad de protección de datos de tu país.

Si esta página cambia de forma relevante, lo diremos aquí y actualizaremos la fecha de arriba.
